Boycott Snap Previews!
Oh my gosh, I don't know which designer over at Snap invented the snap previews that I'm seeing ALL over the web not but I'd like to find them and kick them in the butt!
I find them distracting and intrusive and they really get in the way when I'm trying to read some text on a page somewhere.
I'm just joking about boycotting them because I'd be better off just turning off the computer and walking away if I don't want to see them. I'm sure they are here to stay.
Fie on you snap previews! Fie! Fie! Fie! ![]()
I tend to agree
The snap previews tend to be useless for informing me about a site.
Can't judge a book...
useful pop-up things like answer-tips from answer.com are more welcome (User decides to make these appear)
there is another one that offers search results from 4 to 5 different search routes. All you need do is double click on any text to receive search results in a small window. I think it's still alpha/beta so it may be a bit buggy

News regarding the distractions!
Hello Anna!
Good news for you - you were not alone. Also other people went mad about the SNAP bubbles popping up when being mouseover a link.
SNAP changed that now. SNAP users can choose under what circumstances the bubbles pop up. I made use of the new more restrictive use of SNAP. Only the outgoing links will be SNAPed and only if you have a mouseover over the little SNAP bubble added at the end of outgoing links will pop up a SNAP bubble.
This is new. Refer to my blog if you wanna see a demonstration.
Without these changes I would have dropped SNAP. I found the many bubbles finally also too distracting.
I can live with that!
I can live with that! I did check your site (not that I can read a word of it, hehe) and saw the way you have your snap configured. I like that I never got a pop-up on mouseover unless I hovered over the chat bubble. Very nice, and thank you for the information.
