Bloggers for Dollars

I read about Explode! over at Techcrunch who read about it over at The Social Web and went to take a look at it myself.

Explode is a simple way to connect to all your friends regardless of their network, which I think is a pretty cool idea. It doesn't matter which blogging platform or software you use. If you are running a regular website and not even blogging at all you are still able to use Explode! to build up your social network.

Sign up is easy, just enter your name and email address, respond to the welcome email to activate your account and you're in. Then fill in your profile (which takes less than 30 seconds), get your widget code and add the code to your blog or website.

I don't know if it is just me but I had a bit of a problem navigating the Explode! site. I didn't fill out my profile before I got my code and had a dickens of a time trying to find the link to edit my profile afterwards.

The only problem I see with it so far is that the widget might be too wide for my blog template. I'll have to keep my eye on it because having a warped or uneven looking blog would drive me batty.

All in all, I give this widget a thumbs up. It will be interesting to see if Explode! will become the next FOTM widget(flavor of the month) in the blogosphere.
