Have I bitten off more than I can chew?

Getting a new website off the ground is the hardest part of site building. The first thing I need to do is get out the old pencil and paper and start outlining my goals and make a list of the things I need to do. But that is the easy part! The hardest part is actually following through with the things on my list. haha

The issue I'm having with the site now is that there are very few nice themes for the Drupal CMS. I personally like bright colors and dislike gray. The layouts I like have bad colors and the colors I like are on bad layouts. I think my best bet is concentrating on the layout since I can always change the colors later, when I get the discipline to get out the CSS editor and get down to it. I'm having so much frustration with finding a theme I like I'm at the brink of deleting Drupal and installing Joomla. blah

I have two other sites in the infancy stage and here I am starting a new one! I know there is something out of kilter about this but it is a facet of my personality that I have learned to live with. Heaven knows I've tried to change it over the years without any success at all, so accepting my flaw (if that it is indeed a flaw) and learning to work around it is the best thing I can do for myself.

Saying hi

While it looks like you have settled on a theme I'm not sure its the most important aspect of a site, I seem to read if the worse themed site if the contents good particularly if it links well, you might find a couple of the modules we discuss in this post here Its part 2 of a multi part series of turning Drupal CMS into a Digg like site but it has some relevant points.

p.s I like the theme nice and clean.

I'm stunned...

My hit counter is still at zero so I thought nobody had even seen this site yet! Funny, I seem to recall visiting your blog before but I don't remember commenting. How in the world did you find this little hole in the wall?

Yes, the dadblasted theme was giving me fits! I usually rant about whatever is giving me a fit for the day. I'm not sure how this site will end up but hopefully I'll have a fun journey.

Thank you for taking the time to comment, I really appreciate it.

No problem

We use rss feeds of Technorati to track key words including Drupal and its so disappointing to set up a nice site and no one to stop by and say Hi.

Wish you luck with the site, I will add you to my del.icio.us account which will get you a few links I hope to get you started!
