Shoemoney banned from MyBlogLog.Com
Shoemoney, a notable blogger in the affiliate marketing world, has been banned from MyBlogLog for revealing some of the methods people have been using to exploit MyBlogLog.
He detailed the way to impersonate someone and surf the MyBlogLog community as that person. He showed how to add some of the well known bloggers to your community to give yourself more clout. He showed how to get free keyword targeted links. I believe it was revealing the impersonation expoit that ultimately resulted in Shoemoney's banning.
Heck, I've known about the impersonation exploit for weeks so I'm finding it really strange that MyBlogLog didn't know about it. John Chow blogged about it last week.
After Shoemoney was banned he posted the javascript code showing that MyBlogLog tracks your visitor's Adsense and YPN clicks. Now, this wasn't news to me at all. I could see in my stats that my Google clicks were being reported (while I still had the free Pro MyBlogLog). Still being a noob to some of this internet mumbo jumbo I really didn't know there was anything wrong with what MyBlogLog was doing. I just thought it was the normal thing to do. After all, it was listed in the stats as plain as day. I still don't know what's wrong with reporting those clicks in my stats so I'll have to do some more reading and researching to figure out what MyBlogLog's crime is here.
I wonder how long this little scandal and backlash is going to go on. LOL, scandals in the blogosphere are better than watching soap operas. Should I file this entry under "Entertainment"?
